Board (Ju)
局
In simple terms
the complete board that captures a single moment in Qimen. By solar term and time it divides into “yang escaping” and “yin escaping,” and the layout of the nine squares changes accordingly.
At a glance
A little deeper
The year splits into yang boards after the winter solstice and yin boards after the summer solstice, each solar term subdividing into several boards. Since the same direction can be auspicious or not depending on the board, setting the correct board is the starting point of Qimen judgment.
