Six Instruments
六儀
In simple terms
the six energies Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren and Gui — the remaining framework that, paired with the Three Marvels, fills the nine palaces.
At a glance
A little deeper
The Six Instruments are the six stems that conceal Jia (甲) — true to the name “Escaping Jia,” they hide the chief energy Jia-Wood behind them. If the Marvels are the shining energies, the Instruments are the ground behind them; their arrangement forms the board’s skeleton.
